3 DIY Golf Cart Projects For Fall
November 9, 2016Still Need Christmas Ideas? Check Out Our Golf Cart Gift Guide!
November 30, 2016While our original location is here in Fountain Inn in Upstate South Carolina, we love the Midstate and Lowcountry just as much — and there’s nowhere we’d rather be for the holidays than in our great state. Today, we’ve got three wonderful holiday events you can’t miss, whether you’re interested in keeping things close to Greenville, you’re in or near Columbia, or you’re celebrating the winter season right on the beach near Charleston.
Looking for Handmade Gifts in Greenville? Check Out the Indie Craft Parade Holiday Pop-Up Shop!
Taking place just outside of downtown and only a quick hop away from the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery, the Makers Collective is hosting a 12-day Holiday Pop-Up Shop, starting December 1st! Find the perfect gift for your loved ones, whether you’re interested in one-of-a-kind jewelry, custom-designed jeans from Billiam Jeans (featured recently in Southern Living Magazine!), artwork, and many other handcrafted pieces that will be just perfect under the tree. The pop-up shop will take place at Methodical Coffee’s roasting facility at 3 McBeth Street, and Methodical will provide a brew bar for the event. Don’t miss out!
Living in the Midstate? The Planetarium Has Something Special Planned
The South Carolina State Museum’s Planetarium will be showcasing a holiday event called The Star of Bethlehem, running from now all the way through January 1st, 2017. In an event the whole family is sure to enjoy, this full-dome experience will take your family back in time to Jerusalem and Bethlehem, examining historical and scientific facts about the mystery of the ‘Star of Bethlehem’. The audio-visual display features popular Christmas carols. The show itself lasts about half an hour, making it the perfect way to start off a holiday-themed evening. We recommend checking out the museum itself to learn about the history of our great state beforehand, and following up the show with dinner at nearby Grill Marks for burgers, shakes, and fries.
Spend Your Holiday in the Holy City
If you haven’t been in Charleston to see their Christmas parade before, make sure you mark it on your calendars today! Taking place at 2 pm on December 4th (a Sunday), you’ll see representation from just about every corner of the city — from historical groups to bands to local schools and more! Come together with others from the Lowcountry and enjoy the magic of Christmas traditions (even if we don’t get to enjoy snow). After the parade, remember to pick up those perfect last-minute gifts by checking out the Charleton City Market for handmade sweetgrass baskets or head over to King Street for some of the best holiday shopping in the city. Whether you pick up a traditional fir tree or you find yourself hanging ornaments on a palmetto, the Lowcountry knows just how to have fun with the holidays!
